<p>Yes</p>

If so, is there a way to decrypt?</p>
</blockquote>
<p>For SD programmes copy them to a USB drive. The copy process will copy them decrypted.<br />
For HD it is a longer process but this site does not support the discussion of the details.

<description><p>I've managed to use Filezilla to copy folders/files from my 1800T, however, if I try to play them - ie by double-clicking the .ts file, it won't play - certainly not in VLC etc. Is this because they are encrypted? If so, is there a way to decrypt?</p>
<p>Thanks

Hi Guys<br />
I've tried the search box but cannot find instructions for a novice, on how to copy programmes from the Fox HDD to an external HDD or preferably, to a USB stick. Is there an idiots guide on how to and which is the best device, HDD or USB stick. Thank you</p></blockquote>
<p>From User Black Hole over at Hummy.tv:</p>
<p>"Plug a FAT32 memory stick or disk into either of the USB sockets;<br />
Media &#62;&#62; [select recording] &#62;&#62; OPT+ &#62;&#62; Move/Copy &#62;&#62; [select destination] &#62;&#62; Copy (red)<br />
The only possible cock-up you could make is to navigate into the destination folder instead of just selecting it. If you do that, the copy operation doesn't happen. If you are not navigated into the UPD/disk and still on the internal drive, the red option will be "move" not "copy"."

<description><p>Thanks again Martin.<br />
I have a spare 64Gb USB stick, which should hold a few recorded programmes.<br />
According to the manual the FVP-5000T has a side USB 2.0 port, and the Aura has a 2.0/3.0 USB port, so when the new Aura arrives I'll try copying from the FVP to the USB then USB to Aura.<br />
Pity it can't be done via a PC, but I suppose the ports are intended for copying the occasional program, not 30 or so during an upgrade. Or perhaps it's some sort of 'backward compatibility' function, which would explain why it's USB 2.0 on the FVP.

I've copied some recordings to my PC, and deleted them from the FVP.<br />
As a test to prepare for the eventual transfer, on my PC I've clicked on a copied '.mpeg' program, selected "Copy", then clicked on the FVP in Explorer (described as "FVP-5000T DMS xxx.xxx.x.xx" "Media Server"), but the "Paste" option on this device is greyed out.
</p></blockquote>
<p>You certainly can't copy them back via the DMS (really a DLNA server) server which is read only. On the Aura there is an upload directory that can be accessed via FTP but I think this is intended only for recordings copied off the Aura. The easiest way to access recordings from the FVP is to copy then to USB storage, attach the USB drive to the Aura, install VLC on the Aura and you will then be able to play the recordings on the Aura. Maybe someone else has found a better way of doing it?

Is a one way copy as far as I can get ?

<description><p>OK, that seems to be working (a bit slow and arthritic, just like me!), but that's only the first part.<br />
Once I have them copied to my PC, can I then download them to the new Aura box (when it arrives)?<br />
Or is there a 'direct transfer' method that a simpleton like me could use?
