Hi, I've just picked up an old Foxsat HDR to use in a second room as opposed to the Aura we watch most TV on. I have a couple of queries if anyone can help.

1. Not sure which firmware version is on it at the moment, haven't even plugged it in. Is there any advantage in upgrading it and if so where is the firmware available from? I don't think Humax have the firmware on their support page now.

2. I'd like to check if it can record 2 Freesat channels while watching a third but I'm not sure of the channel groupings to use for this, i.e. which channels are on different transponders. Does anyone have a handy list to point me in the right direction? I'm using a twin LNB with two cables attached and can easily find the satellite.

As a new member I wonder if someone could clear up a small matter of confusion for me. I have just ordered a T2 that has older 1.02xx firmware. Do I need to update factory firmware to 1.03xx before flashing latest custom or just install the 1.02 version. I would like iPlayer to work if possible. Or indeed can I just flash the latest 1.03 directly. Unable to find any real clarity on the. Any advice very much appreciated.

The 7 day EPG on the Web interface shows no channels. The summary at the bottom of the page says "Displaying EPG data from Fri July 14th". The Webif Channel List shows all channels that I've checked to be HD or Main (SD). The on-screen guide shown by the FOXSAT on the TV is fully populated.

Any ideas (other than a hard reboot)?

Can’t find any details here about this update.
Jan 13th 2021 Software version UKTFAE 1.03.53
What exactly is it and what has it added or done to my FVP-4000T?

Any help appreciated. Did notice a change to the recording icons on the channels that are already prerecorded. It seems faster? But that’s all I can find

Cheers

Hi has anyone ever came across this or know how it might be fixed?

I own a HDR fox that has custom firmware fitted that has been working fine for years .... at some point I changed my network IP prefix and when I changed it back this one seemed to stay the same and for the life of me I can't stop it 192.168.0.100 is a repeater but the address the humax box is farting out no longer exists.

A few days ago, the menus on my Humax Foxsat-HDR suddenly started displaying "Out of index" on almost every field of the menus and displays although, not entirely surprisingly given the architecture of this device, all of the satellite channel data and other functionality is working properly. I'm (still) running Raydon's "Media and File Server Bundle for the Foxsat HDR" version 4.1.3 and the unit still boots up properly, displaying that on the front panel display whilst booting.

I found an old thread on here about the display of these messages on the same model so I was fairly convinced that re-flashing this firmware (I never delete anything from my hard drives if it might be useful at some time in the future!) would resolve this and I happily fired up a FAT32-formatted USB stick and successfully re-flashed the Humax.

Wrong! It's still exactly the same and despite a third re-flashing ("hope springs eternal") nothing has changed. Perhaps some aspect of date processing means that 4.1.3 will no longer work?

I have a Humax TN5000HD. A firmware update messed it up last night and I can't get any programmes any more. Apparently it seems to be a widespread issue. Anybody has got it? Can you advise.

Thank you very much

Another Foxsat HDR problem. I have one which switches on and powers up but the tv display has the loader page and the message "uploading" - it's stuck on that screen. Message below says press the standby button to restart but it just reverts to the same message. I swapped the front panel to another Foxsat HDR which has a crack in the front panel but no ther faults; the "uploading" fault transferred to the second machine.

My guess this is a firmware fault, perhaps due to faulty firmware memory. Anybody come across this one and am I correct - does it need a new front panel pcb?

Hi
This is my first site post.

I am a longtime user of the Foxsat-HDR with the Media & File Server Bundle custom firmware. I have been incredibly happy and grateful for all the hard work and effort that provided me access to the web interface and related functionality, especially the SSH, remote scheduling and NAS mount.

The box continues to work solidly but I now need to consider moving to Freeview for my PVR as my new house is listed and putting up a dish may not meet listed planning (and spousal) approval.

I have been looking at the FVP-5000 and FVP-4000 boxes (which seem pretty much identical to each other, coloured LEDs aside). Access to the catch-up, Netflix and Youtube apps isn't an issue for me as I run a a Chromecast already. Streaming recordings from the box to local clients looks interesting.

I see various other Humax Freeview / Youview boxes for sale secondhand, including the T2 which I think was the Foxsat-HDR equivalent at the time of release, and I'm sure they all have positive and negative points.

Does anyone have any personal recommendations for me so I don't miss my Raydon + Foxsat wonderland too much?

thanks
Andy
