An interesting 'conversation' with them on Friday 1600 (UK time). My main query was to try and get the remote codes for the Humax Aura remote to enable me to programme a 'OneforAll' universal remote, so if anyone has them --- please?

During the conversation I mentioned I had switched my remote code to code 2 to avoid conflict with my other Humax STB "You cannot do that" was the reply. This set me back a bit as I had :-). I then established that I was actually talking to someone who said he was the 'Chief Tech advisor' for Humax. I actually suspect, as you will see, that I was talking to some 'herbert' who picked up my call as he walked past.

I asked him if he had access to a 1TB aura and remote. "Yes" said he. I talked him through the FV Play settings to the bit where you can change the code. "That should not be there", said he. "It is only for the TV" (NB not Humax). I was beginning to get goose bumps...

"Is this, then, a fault with my box" (which is 2 weeks old), I asked. "Where did you buy it" he asked. "Amazon" I said. "Who supplied it", he asked. "Amazon" I said patiently. "You should return it under warranty, then". At this point I gave up.

Can I please check here that this function IS in fact correct and should be available on the settings menu. If so, is there any way Humax can perhaps run an education programme for their 'Senior Tech' man?

Not impressed!

U cannot warch an LED TV so I watch a CRT TV connected ti a Humax.
My current TV is a Philips and it is connected to a Humax DTR-T2000,that was new in 2016. As both TV and Humax are getting tempremental and the Olympic games are coming I decided to buy some "new" gear.

I bought a Sony Trinitron Wide TV 28 Inch from a charity which appears to be never used. It has a scart socket so I bought an HDR-T1800R from Amazon and it is new and never used.

As I am a bit decrepit due to advanced years so I got an electrician in to connect the two under my supervision as he had never seen a CRT TV before. I double checked it and he showed interest in the diagrams but all to no avail.

The TV keeps asking for an aerial.

The problem could be that the TV was faulty in the first plave overr 20 years ago.

The problem could also be that I need a Humax- wise person to sort this out.

Humax say they have no engineers for me to call out.

So are there any Humax fans living in SW London who like a challenge?

Hi, my HDR 1100S is four years old now. It's getting glitchy - sometimes the TV guide and Recordings page goes tiny, from full screen to 1/4 screen, top left. Sometimes it tells me there is no signal on some channels. Both of these faults can be fixed by turning the box off at the plug, then starting up again.

It's not the satellite dish or connections, I had all those renewed recently.

So, I want to try a reset to factory settings, but I don't want to loose my recordings. On older Humax boxes there was a check box to reformat the hard drive - is there one on the Freesat HDR 2100S? I'm scared of just trying.

Or, am I going down the wrong road entirely? Is it old age?

Thanks for reading. I look forward to your advice.

Hi, I hope someone can help. I have had the 5000 for approx 15 months. This week it wont turn on. The red light shows and when the power button (remote and on the box) is pressed the red light goes out as if its powering up, but nothing happens apart from the Humax name appearing on a textured background. It then goes back to the red light. But goes into a cycle of trying to turn on. Endless cycle. I've unplugged it. I've taken out all the leads. Plugged them all back in. I've tried changing the hdmi socket. All with no positive results. What have I not done?

Hi, newbie here but directed here by internet searches. My PVR seems to have lost all the stored recordings but still shows ~75% disc space used. From other searches it would seem this is not that uncommon but I couldn't actually find out much about it. The one thread I read was talking about linking up the PVR hard disc to a computer but it didn't seem like something I'd want to try. Is there a 'simple' way to recover lost recordings? It seems a little like formatting an SD card, you really only wipe the index - the data is still on the card?? Anyway, if there is an easy method to recover the recording I'd love to hear it thanks.
ps - It has retained the scheduled recordings and records and plays back ok.

Hi,
I'm a newbie and not tech minded so please be gentle!
I brought a DVR 1100s box yesterday, we previously had sky. I plugged it in as shown on the set up and selected the hdmi channel on the tv but it continues to say 'no signal'. It's a old lg tv with just one hdmi port. I rang humax who were not helpful and said either the box is faulty or it's your TV's simplink- I asked about the simplink and he just said I'd have to find it on my TV's menu - I can't!
So, I've tried the box on three other TV's in the house - l can only access the start up menu on one of those TV's (which is a newer smart tv) no other tv will show the humax start up menu. I've changed hdmi leads, checked the leads and connections but nothing! Please help!

Hi,
I am Trashcooky, a Forum Newbie so hope I am not breaching any protocols initiating this post here.

Apparently my Foxstat+ HDR will no longer process the new format BBC iPlayer as BBC stops supporting iPlayer on this older model this month.

Although I don't know for certain, I believe this is something to do with a change in the screen resolution BBC have now adopted for the iPlayer.

I am aware there are custom firmware packs available for some Humax devices.

My Question is:

"Can I re-flash my Foxstat+ HDR firmware and get BBC iPlayer back or is the hardware and memory inside this model simply not up to it?"

A couple of weeks ago the picture of my Humax HDR 2000T developed an aberration where the edges of shapes on the screen have a blue irregular sparkly strip that is rather distracting. The TV itself is fine but if I'm watching through the recorder or a recording, the picture has this blemish. I cannot find a menu on the Humax to adjust 'contrast' or different colour ratios that might resolve the issue. The unit is still well within its warranty period but if there's a simple solution then that's better for everyone! Suggestions welcome (in layman's language, please).
