For a while now our Aura has fairly frequently stopped playing during playing a recording. See to reboot and when I start the recording again I have to restart from the beginning and skip through to where I was.

I contacted Humax and they told me to do a factory reset, see response below.

Have others experiencing this problem found that a Factory Reset helped, or are Humax just fobbing me off?

Response from Humax:

Thank you for contacting Humax.

Please follow these instructions to perform a Factory Reset on your Humax Aura
Device. Performing a factory reset can help with picture/sound, signal,
recording playback, and software operation issues.

Please NOTE: This will erase all data from your device's internal storage,
including your Google Account, System and app data, downloaded apps, and user
settings. Your recordings will NOT be deleted.
- Press the Freeview Play button on the remote
- Using the directional buttons, move up (top right-hand corner) and select
the Settings icon
- Navigate to Device Preferences and press OK
- Select "Reset" from the list of options
- A new screen will appear; select "Reset" once again.
- The unit will turn off for a few moments and turn on again.
- Follow the on-screen installation wizard to complete the device setup.
- Pair the remote by OK & i buttons for five seconds; once paired, select
next.
- Choose your preferred language and select next
- Select your WiFi network and enter your password.
- You'll need to sign into your Google account. You'll have the option for
web or on-screen sign-in (we recommend web)
- Next, agree to the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.
- Enable location services.
- Choose if you wish to send information back to Google to help improve their
services.
- Enable the Google Assistant and Personal Results
- Next, you'll be prompted to re-install any deleted apps (due to the reset).

- You'll then be shown an overview of the features of your device. Press the
right arrow key to progress through this.
- You'll then need to complete the Freeview Channel search (this may take 3-5
minutes).
- When completed, save the results and accept the Freeview Terms and
Conditions.
- Agree to the End User License Agreement.
- Finished

I hope this helps.
Best Regards,

A recorded film lasting about 2 hours plays for about 20 minutes and then returns to the recordings list. This has happened in the past with other recordings but I cannot remember how we resolved it. Is there any option which will not wipe out our other recordings?

Recently and spontaneously the Windows file manager on my Win10 desktop computer has started displaying the recordings on my Aura PVR (shown as Aura 4K Media Server). But if I try to play them via the computer using Media Monkey 5 software they won't start. If I try with Windows Media Player the computer simply freezes and Windows has to be restarted. Trying to play starting from the file manager uploads the file to an AppData file, but it still won't play.

Is playback from the Aura via wifi on a Windows computer supported?

We have had the DVR-5000T for about 2 years no problems. Now we have an issue where on playback of a recording playback would stop multiple times throughout the recording. Each time we notice a pixelated band appear momentarily on the recording each time the playback stops. We can resume playback and it continues only to stop again a while later (anywhere between 3-20mins!). We do record on HD channels wherever possible and so far not tested using SD channels (not sure what this would conclude).

I have checked signal strength which shows 100% quality and strength 92-95% on all 3 tuners. We have watched live TV on the same channels and have not noticed any pixelation. It only shows on the recordings.

Tried switching off/on. I have read some other posts on pixelation but they do not answer our problem. Not sure what else to try or whether its a signal or DVR issue.

Last night, on two programs, both recorded from Drama, channel 20, the screen went green for quite a few seconds.
It's happened before, but only on this TV, and some time ago.
Is it a poor signal?
We are in the Bilsdale Transmitter area, so this may be the culprit. (we are on a temporary ariel since the fire)

My Aura has updated and has been playing fine until this evening. Everything that plays now, live TV, recordings, video from USB even mp3 files the sound cuts out and the video pauses every 30 seconds or so. I have changed none of the settings and I have pulled the plug and left it for 5 minutes and then rebooted but it is still the same.
Please help!

I have a Humax FVP 5000T and having been having a number of glitches with Freeview players recently. ie. They were not being loaded from start-up.
However, I discovered the recent software update and loading problems seem to be resolved for all players except BBC Player. I cannot get any of the programmes to play properly. I'm talking about any programmes that are not live. Sometimes they will start but then there is frequent buffering (despite having changed to SD)followed eventually by error messages that just say there was a problem showing this programme.I've repeatedly checked my network connection and that is ok. I have not been able to find any advice online from the BBC or Freeview about potential problems. Has anyone else had similar problems recently?

We keep getting a problem when playing a recording that the screen goes blank and the recording goes back to the beginning, or the point where we started watching the programme. This can happen over and over again, each time the playback starts again from the same place. The problem appears to be worse if we fast forward over adverts. The problem often makes it almost impossible to watch the programme even though it is clear that the recording is complete. It's very frustrating.

Hi,

I have a Humax HB 1100s with no hard drive at the moment.

I wish to add a 1 TB external drive so I can record/playback programmes, just wondering what HD is recommended? and where to get them from.

Been on Ebay for many years, normally my first port of call.

Do I need to format the external disk and anything to do in setup once plugged in?

Thanks
