Hi there,
A week ago the Humax restarted itself and wiped all my recordings.
When checking the storage, the drive was saying it was 97% full, all down to System Usage.

Has anybody experienced this as well ?
Did you find a solution ?

I've rebooted several times but the result is the same.

I can re-format the drive of course but wanted to ask in case there was a magic way to get my 100s of recordings back.

I'm also curious how this could have happened in the first place.

Thanks for your time folks.
Graeme

Both of my HDR 1100s boxes which are a few years old have suddenly started displaying the same problem, when I select a watch from start program the boxes tell me that I need to be connected to the internet, which they already are by ethernet cable to the router, so I go along with it and hit the connect now and the message is then"you are now connected" so I then select an iPlayer and it says no connection. There is no problem with the router or internet.I also have a 4k TV Freesat box which did show a similar problem at the same time as the others but after going through the reconnect it works ok now. It's as though there has been some sort of update which has screwed that part of the controls up. Has anybody else experienced this problem?

Hi guys. For over a week now my On Demand has been out of order. I know this is a common issue and the "fixes" are usually to unplug power and restart from cold or to reset to default. I have done this - (so MANY times), and it does not correct it. I have a correctly reported static IP address, I have tried removing the network cable, waiting a few seconds then replacing it. The network always hooks up perfectly but without improvement.

If I access On Demand from the Home screen I am told it is loading and it should take 1 minute. Yeah? Well hours later it is apparently still going to take 1 minute. Humax seem to have discovered the secret of time dilation.

If I access it by bringing up the channel listing, selecting a channel with On Demand availability, BBC1 via iPlayer for example, and scrolling left a couple of times I get the buffering pinwheel coming up but that is totally static. It should be rotating of course but it just isn't and it never starts. I can't go any further left into the programme history.

It has only recently occurred. Everything was working fine until Dave became U&Dave or just U, I have no idea which is now correct, and I re-registered with them to be able to access it after its rebrand. There was no hint of any issue with the re-registration. That is probably a red herring and nothing to do with this issue but it was a coincidence.

Is anyone else having current problems with this service? Is there perhaps something going on with the servers which would cause this?

Hi
Can anyone out there help, I’ve got a Humax FVP-5000T and I’m having issues with it.
The set up I have is an ordinary roof aerial which is connected to the Humax and the Humax to the tv via a HDMI cable.

I keep getting a message saying no signal, if pull the arial cable out of the Humax and connect it directly into the tv, bingo I have a picture and sound so it’s not the coaxial cable.

I’ve changed the HDMI cable for another one which is known to working but still have the same problem ie. the message no signal displayed.
In fact, I would like to get rid of the Humax and buy a different Freeview / Recorder.

On the assumption the issue with the Humax is just the fact it won’t pick up live tv broadcasts, is there any way I can copy the existing recordings from its hard drive to a new Freeview / Recorder via a PC if necessary and what would be involved??

My PC has USB and HDMI connections so no problem as far as cabling is concerned.
Do I need any form of software downloaded onto the PC in order to perform the task??

My thanks to anyone who can help

It will not respond to remote commands.
Other times it will start, butthen starts running through the channels counting down.
It has the latest software but i managed to reload it from the usb in case it was corrupted but the problem remains.

Hi
I just got my Aura today. Set it up and checked out some new apps. I installed Notifications for Android TV. As soon as I installed it, the screen went totally black although the sound still remained. I've tried pressing every button on the remote with no change. HELP!!! (Please!)

We keep getting a problem when playing a recording that the screen goes blank and the recording goes back to the beginning, or the point where we started watching the programme. This can happen over and over again, each time the playback starts again from the same place. The problem appears to be worse if we fast forward over adverts. The problem often makes it almost impossible to watch the programme even though it is clear that the recording is complete. It's very frustrating.

Hi,

I have a Humax hdr 1800t and have recently bought a new tv which requires connection via a HDMI cable. I have connected the 1800t and I have no sound when I try to record. I have read elsewhere on the forum that an update can be downloaded from the Humax website which I have done. However, the website says I should download and the ZIP file. The file is a .hdf file. I assumed Winzip would work but it does not and I have found it impossible to find something that will unzip the .hdf file. I have found app/programs that can change the hdf file to another formal but not that will open it.

Can anybody advise the program to use and how to use the program so as to unzip it.

Many thanks for your anticipated assistance.

Kelf

Two boxes with the same symptoms: HDR 1100S and HDR 1000S
Struggle to get it to sense remote button pushes, but then a delayed reaction where the on screen menu continuously scrolls round. Can be initiated by pressing "home" or when trying to select an item on the guide or recordings menu.
Tried taking out remote batteries and proved it is not related to the remote sending repeatedly.
Tried changing the remote "MODE" which had no effect on the symptoms
Can't control the menu to get into settings to establish software build or update the software.
Tried swapping the power supply with a third unit - no change.
Can't see a hardware reset pin hole or other means to reset the box physically
Can't control any functions using the push buttons on the top of the STB
Tried moving the STB a meter away from other equipment to ensure no RF EMC interference - no effect.
(The HDR 1000S has never been used until now and is exhibiting the same problems as the well used HDR 1100S)
