I recorded a BBC4 HD programme in non-freesat mode. I can play it on the Foxsat HDR but the file is not in Raydon's explorer interface. The file is not encrypted. I was hoping to copy it to my laptop.

Where can I get Raydon's firmware v4.1.2 from? I'm currently running v4.0.9 and logging into my Foxsat it tells me that the latest version is v4.1.2. However, on Raydon's Software blog page it only has download links for v4.0.9.

Cheers

Following grahamlthompson's advice I have managed to connect my computer to the Foxsat box and loaded Raydon's File and Media Package. This involved bringing my router to the box, connecting them with ethernet cable (socket in the back of the box) and updating using internet (telephone extension cable into living room to router).

As I understand it, the key to recording non-freesat channels is to move them into the freesat channel list. I have installed the interface and can see a menu option "WebIf channel lists" but the list is only freesat and I can't find the others.

I searched for this topic without finding it.

How do I add non-freesat channels to the freesat list?

I've just updated various bits on custom fw 4.1.1 through the update process inc the Web front end webif which I think went up to 2.0. However it now will not give me any access via port 80 with the site not available. Samba does work as does telnet but not the Web server.
Any suggestions on how to restart it? Simply restarting the box doesn't work.

Hi all,
If I use Raydon's great software to pull the HD recordings off the Humax and store them on a USB exterior hard drive.

Can I then play them back via the USB socket on the Humax?
If the answer to the above is yes, how to I find them using the Humax menu system?

Hello,

Long time lurker, first time poster....

I've got a minor problem with Raydon v4.0.6 / 2.73. Basically, it looks like my EPG database is not being updated.

Initially after installing the firmware, I had the problem where it said that EPG data was present but it would take approx 5 mins to update. That never happened, so I eventually SSHd to the box and ran "epg dumpsql" to create the database.

That's sort-of fixed the EPG insofar as I have data and can browse it, but unless I rerun that command every few days, my EPG will show old occurrences of programmes (eg if I search for a programme and click on it, it lists showings in the past).

The box is doing housekeeping boots at 0300, but it would appear that during a normal boot the /opt/etc/init.d/S72epg script either does not run or the section to update the EPG is not executing.

Has anyone got any ideas?

Thanks,
Stuart

Thanks to Raydon for all the effort that must have been involved in writing this custom firmware. It's all very slick and professional and completes an already good machine.

I’m using 4.0.8 of the media server bundle and have encountered a couple of problems that I can’t find the answers to on the forum.

1)When copying files onto the HDR using Samba the new files don’t appear in the HDR’s GUI. If a directory and files are copied across then the directory will also not be visible. I found a couple of posts a while back mentioning something similar happening if you move files around using Samba. The missing items are visible in the web interface. If I go in via the web interface and rename them the files and the folder magically appear on the HDR. There must be something that the web interface is updating or triggering that is not being done through Samba.

2)When renaming media items using the web interface, the web server regularly stops working, requiring a reboot (switch to and from standby via the remote) of the HDR before I can reconnect. It will often crash when displaying the dialog box (I get just one edit box) or when refreshing the file list after a rename.

Newbie here, Just installed raydon's media bundle 4.0.8 and I can access the interface and have downloaded mediatomb.

Now I want to be able to watch the SD videos on the foxsat on my wdtv live and ipad. I've searched the forums and find lots of different advice. Does anyone have any clear instructions for someone unfamiliar with telnet, ftp etc?

Thanks in advance.
