HDR 1100s.
Screen display is showing no signal on both channels but have checked cables with a simple meter at the dish and at entry point to receiver and there is a signal? Does this suggest receiver is faulty?
As part of my checks I have replaced lnb and realigned the dish, which I am fairly confident is still pointing at the right astra 2 satellite (but maybe not?)

Hello.
I have recently cancelled Sky Q subscription and have purchased a 2nd working Humax freesat box with the intention of plugging the current dual cables and using it as a freeview recorder. However I am not able to get any signal through manual or auto search. Also if i search via postcode it does not recognise it. Is there anything I am doing wrong? How do i get a signal from my dish?
Many thanks.

Ok, all done!

It is a bit challenging the first time but once you understand the process it gets much easier. I am really pleased that you got things to work the way you wanted.

Ok, all done! It was a bit of a battle, but Martin's input helped, as did Biggles' old set of instructions (although the prompts at Freeview are a bit different now). One small word of warning: I could not get the table with the numbers for the transmitter I wanted to use on my phone. The Freeview site only displayed them in a table on my laptop. But once I had them (there were 6 of them) and searched stations using each of them, we had 133 stations and she's very happy to have BBC1 South back. (The London (Crystal Palace) signal was very choppy and much weaker than Hannington. No idea why the Humax chose it in the automatic search.) So many thanks to all.

I've been meaning to update my instructions for a while, in fact got a draft nearly completed, but thought nobody would be interested these days.

How do I manually retune it to BBC South?

Try reading this old post by user Biggles https://myhumax.org/forum/topic/week-old-9300t-and-epg-wont-fill-up-for-week#post-7097

To get the channel number you will need go to https://www.freeview.co.uk/freeview-channel-checker input your post code and house number, then click on the Check button. On the next screen it will tell you how many channels are available but to get the details you need click on the "Detailed Transmitter View" link. This will give a list of possible transmitters. Decide which one you want to use and then from the table you want to record the multiplex channel number from the column headed by a white N on a black circle for each of the multiplexes (BBC A, D3&4, BBC B, SDN, ARQ A, ARQ B); there may be other local multiplexes. Then follow the Biggles tuning instructions from the above link.

Thanks, Martin. We did indeed get about 200 channels and the Humax now works as a set top box through which she can watch TV. But another problem showed up: for some reason, even though the aerial installer who installed the new antenna last week aimed the aerial at the BBC South transmitter, the Humax chose BBC London. The signal for BBC1 and BBC2 is therefore "Weak or No Signal". How do I manually retune it to BBC South? I watched a Humax video on YouTube where it talked about erasing the memory and then retuning, but gave no instructions for this. Can you help? Thanks.

That’s possible, Martin. I’ll give it a try. Do you know where the retune/station scan command is located? Is it something you get to via Menu on the remote? Thanks!

Press the Menu Button> select Installation> Enter the PIN which defaults to 0000> select Automatic Search.
