HDR 1100s.
Screen display is showing no signal on both channels but have checked cables with a simple meter at the dish and at entry point to receiver and there is a signal? Does this suggest receiver is faulty?
As part of my checks I have replaced lnb and realigned the dish, which I am fairly confident is still pointing at the right astra 2 satellite (but maybe not?)

Hello.
I have recently cancelled Sky Q subscription and have purchased a 2nd working Humax freesat box with the intention of plugging the current dual cables and using it as a freeview recorder. However I am not able to get any signal through manual or auto search. Also if i search via postcode it does not recognise it. Is there anything I am doing wrong? How do i get a signal from my dish?
Many thanks.

I just bought a Humax 9300T on Ebay for a friend who already owns one, but it has failed. I plugged the antenna lead into Antenna In, but the message on the screen is No Signal. The antenna has just been replaced (the reason the old Humax stopped working was because water came down the aerial lead from the roof and got in the Humax) and when I plug it directly into the TV, it works fine. The old Humax worked fine with the antenna lead plugged into it and a SCART cable to the TV, which is how the new one is also wired up. Is there a setting I need to make on the Humax for the antenna signal to be received? Thanks.

"Receiver is not receiving a signal or the signal is too weak"

We've been getting that since yesterday afternoon, but not on all channels.
BBC 1, 2 & 3 are OK, but the TV Guide either is slow loading or doesn't load. Other channels don't work at all.

Could this be a sign that either or both tuners are dying, or something else?
Power cycling and re-connecting the signal cables has achieved nothing.

Any ideas? (I'm not a h/w guy!)

I lost my TV signal which resulted in the council sending out a subcontractor 3 days ago to sort it. Now my Humax HDR won't accept a postcode (please see image) whereas before the signal loss it did. I have tried numerous postcode variations (leaving out the gap, just using the first part of the code, using a different postcode entirely) and none worked.
https://ibb.co/pWxp41H
This resulted in numerous fruitless reboots of the Humax in the presence of the subcontractor. The subcontractor diagnosed the Humax as being faulty <img src="https://myhumax.org/forum/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_rolleyes.gif" title="" class="bb_smilies" /> so when he left I went into the Humax Settings. Given that Freesat Tune wasn't an option now I chose Manual Tune. I used the default settings, retuned and lo and behold I had all my channels as they were previously - happy days.

This morning I discovered that, whilst the majority of the HD channels I'd favourited were active, ITV 2HD, 3HD, 4HD and ITVBeHD had apparently lost their signals overnight. I decided to once again retune the Humax which turned out to be a grave mistake.

After retuning the Humax will now only pick up a bunch of useless European channels. I suspect this may well be due to the Tuner being shown as fixed with the Satellite set to freesat 28.2E (please see image).
https://ibb.co/NVnMT6X

In a previous thread (Factory reset. Postcode not accepted.) the following is suggested regarding the postcode:

"Select the following Transponder (11428 H 27500 A) from the list of Transponders. Check that you are receiving stable levels for both Signal Strength & Signal Quality or >50%."

I did that and it resulted in no channels showing.

Can I somehow get the U.K. channels back or am I now, as I strongly suspect, screwed?

Footnote:
I have two aerial sockets - one for the TV and one for the Humax. The one for the TV (Freeview) is fine inasmuch as it provides me with the basics; BBC HD, ITV HD etc but is lacking other HD channels I used to get. Swapping the Humax / TV aerial cables simply results in the same settings as previously with the Tuner being shown as fixed and the Satellite set to freesat 28.2E. There is however one intriguing difference - it results in not one single TV or Radio channel being found whereas the other aerial cable brings up a bunch of Euro channels. Bizarre.

Thanks for accepting me.
I bought an aura 2tb unit from Argos as wish to get rid of Virgin Media due to price. Am unable to get decent picture etc even though my Fringe detector is showing almost full strength. When I go into settings to test signal strength/quality it is virtually non existant and only one tuner is running. Does this sound right?

Hi there,

I have just spent an hour or so reading this forum and using the information to fix my broken Foxsat HDR. I thought it only reasonable that in exchange for the information I should post my experience here in the hope that it will help another reader.

My HDR has worked flawlessly for around 4 years. Yesterday however it started giving trouble. Initially it would not view channels saying there was no signal. Recordings could still be accessed. After rebooting no channels could be viewed and the recordings could not be accessed either. The menu could be accessed which showed there was no signal being received. Boot time had dramatically increased to 60-120 seconds.

I carried out the following steps...

I performed a factory reset which was successful and upon reboot I got the set up wizard. It then still said there was no signal and it wouldn’t accept the postcode. I could not do anything else at this stage. I could not exit the wizard or access the menu. Rebooting, including via rear switch, only loaded me back into the wizard.

I looked at the dish and the cable. Dish looked in the same position and the cable appeared intact.

I dug out an old Sky box and hooked it up to the lnb feed. This worked fine with good signal strength and quality. I now knew the problem was with the Humax.

I opened the Humax (three PH2 screws at rear - unplug first as there is 230V inside!) and took a look around. I got a torch and carefully inspected all the capacitors for signs of swelling (denoting failure) and looked around the circuit board for any signs of burns or arcing. All looked good.

I then disconnected the two cables running to the hard drive. It’s easier to disconnect them from the board rather than the drive itself.

I switched on and booted the Humax. The wizard appeared but this time it found signal. I was able to complete the setup and tune.

Next I powered down and switched off. I reconnected the drive and rebooted. It recognised the disk with no problems and all the recordings were visible and playable.

Replaced lid, had a cup of tea and informed a much relieved wife that her collection of Neighbours and Home and Away was safe.

Two problems!

1. How do you change the AM/PM on the timeline of TV Guide to 24hr 14:00 etc?

I've tried - Settings - Device Preferences - Date & Time - and tried with 24-Hour Format on and off and Timeline remains on AM/PM?

2. I've got Picture breakup on screen and recordings that has got worse!

TV signal test is Signal Strength 98%, Signal Quality 100% Arial from wall to TV!
TV signal test is Signal Strength 18%, Signal Quality 79% Arial from wall to Aura, Arua to TV. Aura power on!
TV signal test is Signal Strength 96%, Signal Quality 100% Arial from wall to Aura, Arua to TV. Aura power disconnected!
Aura signal test when I first got the box Signal Strength 36%, Signal Quality 70%, now it's down to 14% & 21%?

I've tried different Arial leads!

Any thoughts as to what is going on here?

I have a FVP-4000T with, I think, a 2TB internal drive.
For all sorts of reasons it has been sitting in a drawer for many years, waiting for me to deploy it upstairs in a bedroom, with access to it coming via an H3 to our main AV system downstairs.
I’m fairly sure I checked it out when I bought it, but I just started to set it up and it is refusing to work with my DTV RF signal. The same signal is distributed through the house by a dedicated TV amp, and is happily driving the bedroom Panasonic TV, the main system Sony TV, a Humax HDR-FOX T2 and a cheap Logitek TV I’m using as a temporary setup monitor.
I’ve tried to give the 4000T a signal from two different DTV outlets, and on both it just says “The receiver is not receiving a signal, or the signal is too weak”. The 4000T passes through a signal that both the Panasonic and Logitek can use to show interference-free pictures.
Exactly the same as if the RF in & out leads are disconnected and joined together directly.
Any ideas why the 4000T might decide the signal is too weak when every other unit I have works fine with the same signal ? Anything I can tweak ?
I’m happy to open up the unit if needed.
