I’ve had my Aura since it came out and have had no issues until now. For the last week, when watching a recording, the sound drops out. It’s only for a couple of seconds, and it’s on old and new recordings. Live TV is unaffected. I have googled this problem but can’t find any help. Anyone else having or had this issue?
Thanks

Hi all. New to the forum but was checking on line problems losing sound on my Humax when switching between tv etc and got directed to this forum. Thought I would join and share my experiences. I started having problems when I changed tv’s. Wired up using hdmi cable where before I’d used a scart lead, only because my tv had a scart socket and I had a spare lead. Everything worked perfectly for the duration of my ownership of that tv, about 5 years. I then upgraded to a slightly larger screen and connected this time via the hdmi port, the only options on the tv, No scart socket and thought no more about it after all hdmi is supposed to be superior. Immediately I realised I was losing sound if day I switched to the dvd player for a while or another tv channel on the tv not the Humax and as other people have said, the only way to get the sound back is to turn off the power to the Humax box, something you can’t do if your recording something already. Tv sound is fine if switching back to the tv itself but not if you want to utilise the Humax, say to watch a recorded programme. I only discovered the problem as someone posted online his problems with the same situation and discovered there’s some sort of clash between the Humax box and the hdmi set up, especially if line most people you have more than one port in use. It certainly makes sense to me as U had ni problems for years using the scart connection but I do now, and typically my current set like most these days doesn’t have a scart socket, deemed old fashioned I guess. Anyway, hope this might help a bit for those if you struggling.
Cheers all. Geoffxm

Got old hdr1000s connected to New Toshiba tv.Have to turn sound to maximum when tv sound is on about 15%.Picture background is much darker than when tv is on aerial? There are no adjustments on tv source and not much on Set top box?
Used to work ok on my old Panasonic viera plasma which is in the bedroom now with a Manhattan freesat box which is fine?
Tried resetting box and tv
Picture from box very different from tv? So much that I use tv if I can rather than box!
Any ideas?

Plugged in my new FVP-5000T a few days ago. We're finding that the sound is dropping on recordings and while watching live TV through the Humax freeview. When the actors stop speaking and there's no background noise or music in the programme the audio completely drops until the actors start speaking again and then it fades back in.

We've not used the new Humax for much other than TV but having a bit of a play, I noticed TV and Amazon both switch my sound system to LPCM ( basic stereo). Amazon set to Dolby+ momentarily but then back to LPCM as soon as playback started. I know the things I was watching definitely were all in DD or DD+

I have the Aura set up in 5.1 mode using ARC - everything goes through the TV - and wondered if there could be some mismatch and settings config needed somewhere as it negotiates the best available option.

Sometimes LPCM is nice for TV - you can hear the dialog - but it's a bit of a waste having gorgeous adaptive HDR+ with basic stereo.

Anyone else having sound drop on BBC One HD. Specifically Euro 2021 broadcasts, even for promos the sound will drop for the duration of the promo then return to normal for next. BBC1 SD not affected as I usually switch to SD for duration of programme.
