I volunteer at a repair non-profit. A customer has brought in a FOX T2 with no power. I've checked out the mains input and switch - all OK.
But where to go next?
The power supply board looks OK, except for the capacitors at the mains input end (see photo). Is that brown gunk intentional or not?
Is a circuit diagram available anywhere? (I have searched).
Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi All,
New to the forum, but have searched the FAQ and can't see a similar listing so posing the question!
I've just bought a 5000T to replace my 6+ year old T2. I've transferred all the recordings from that onto an external HDD ... will they be viewable from the 5000T? as i know it's saved in some proprietary Humax format .ts? or can they be converted to be readable by the 5000T?
Many thanks in advance
Charbe

ive upgraded my humax fox t2.

i now have a fvp-4000t.

i used genre search for movies daily with my fox.
it gave me 400 movies for the whole epg week across the channels i have in my channel list.
in effect you clicked each day and it gave a rolling 8th day to pre select movies for recording.

the 4000t does not have this option
from what i can see you can only see 1 day a few hours ahead.

does anyone know how to get the features for genre search found on the t2.
humax dont seem bothered , ive emailed them.
took them a while to understand what i was asking for.

if anyone has a solution with the fvp-4000t i would appreciate it

many thanks

Hello

My topic is similar to others but not exactly.

I have had the T2 about 4 or 5 years, and have been very happy with it, using it daily including recording.

In the last month its started breaking up when watching recordings and live telly. I haven't changed anything, and telly reception alone is fine, and that comes through aerial connected to T2.

I contacted Humax and they sent me instructions on how to manually rescan, which i did - still the same problems. However, it does seem to come and go a little, some channels seem ok, and some recordings seem fine too. It could be just HD channels that do it, but i'm not sure.

I live quite close to crystal palace, and get about 60% signal strength and 100% quality. The humax is connected to a communal aerial, and someone could have tampered with it, but telly reception fine.

If its just given up the ghost that's fine - i've had my moneysworth, but wanted to check in case i bought a new one and it has same problems

Any ideas?

Thanks

The HD channels I used to get on my Humax box now seem unavailable when I do a manual retune.
I do a manual retune using the channels specified on the Digital UK website for my area. I have to manually retune because if I do an automatic retune I get the welsh channels (and I live in Merseyside).
I get all of the normal channels but when I go to tune the HD channels (54 & 37) the strength and quality is at 0% and obviously when I then search no channels are found.

Does anybody know why this is happening and how I can get the HD channels? Like I have said I used to get these channels but I would say they "disappeared" about 6 months ago I think.

Please could somebody help?

Thanks.

I have removed the orange filter from the front panel display which has improved the visibilty of the display considerably while the box is in operating mode. However the clock is hardly visible when the box is in Standby. Does anyone known of a modification which will improve the brightness of the clock in Standby?

Even though Connect TV isn't up & running yet, it says the Humax HDR FOX T2 is not compatible.

Some of my friends with much cheaper Set Top Boxes say theirs appears to be compatible.

Will there be a fix issued?

Hi,
I am a Newbee and so maybe not in the right place so please point me in the appropriate direction if you can. Thanks.

My problem is that I have a FoxT2 Freeview+ with the latest software.

I use a virginmedia hub and all lap tops tvs etc can see the network.

On forum advice, I purchased an Edimax EW-7711UAN 150Mbps Wireless 802.11n High Gain 3dBi USB Adapter. In a sense, it works fine as the wifi setting is not now greyed out. However, no networks show up when it is connected and even when entered manually, the humax will still not connect.

Please advise. Thanks

My T2 is just over two years old. It worked fine until last week, when it stopped sending output to HDMI. On power up, the startup screen is visible, then about one second of the selected channel, followed by nothing. Checked with a separate monitor, so not a problem with the TV. Tried powering off at the wall; also managed to do a factory reset using the front panel display. No change in either case. Don't have anything with a SCART input, so can't try that.

Has anyone seen or fixed a similar problem? If not, has anyone got experience of having a T2 repaired? Cost and time taken?

Thanks, tb.
