What's Huawei's pedigree in the broadcast market?
I'm very familiar with the company in the mobile telecom field but not broadcast.

Incidentally if there were to be an alternative I would like to see see something to rival the Virgin Media Tivo which buffers or records 3 channels simultaneously, ie it has 3 separate buffers, one for each tuner.

<img src="https://myhumax.org/forum/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_redface.gif" title="" class="bb_smilies" /> Ignore the post above, as that dates 2011.

Here's a more up-to-date report (6th April 2012): http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/6bca36c8-77f2-11e1-b237-00144feab49a.html#axzz1tc2L9wsP

Essentially saying:

They've missed launching for the Olympics

Only 3 manufacturers left: Humax, Huawei and Pace

£200-£300 range – a pricetag that may deter potential buyers

While it remains in testing, it is far from changing the way people watch TV

Hi,

With the news the youview has now possibly been delayed until the end of 2012 (Youview delay)
I kind of feel humax needs to cut its losses and look to bring a new box to market. As a 9200 owner who has been holding out for youview it's just looks like the delay is now too long and with the advent of the new freeview capabilities that current humax boxes do not support (eg.iptv like connecttv).

The Uk seems to have backed itself into a corner while the rest of Europe is now following the HbbTV standard.

In the words of Lord Sugar himself....it's a bloody shambles
