Instant record always works but timed recording do not always. The show is shown in the schedule but not in recorded programmes.

I have formatted the hard disk - twice - and also reset settings to factory settings. And switched off at the mains & on again.

    Any ideas?

Do you have channels numbered from 800? If so try this.

I did this, used the numbers for my region & no longer have any channels over 800. However, it still doesn't always record.

Only question - when I did the manual search I had to choose whether to enable or disable the network search. I chose to disable - was that correct?

I'm wondering if it only records when left on rather than standby.

When the Humax is in standby does it display the time on the front panel display or --:-- ?

Yes that is correct. Network Search is disabled by default and should stay that way, that's why I don't mention it in my instructions. And your last sentence is a tell-tale clue, hence Martin's question.
