    Hi Folks,

I found this forum by googling 9300T problems and I've got to say it's brilliant.
Even though I was too late to download the latest software via OTA, reading the articles and resetting my box to factory defaults has atleast stopped the box freezing every couple of minutes. I'm on v1.00.8 by the way.

What I'd like to know is will the software for the 9200T work with my box and allow me to transfer files to and from my PC.
I don't remember the 9300T coming with any software, although by brother's 9200T did even if it was poo.

    Cheers

You can't transfer files from a 9300 by usb. If I remember correctly later ones don't even have a usb port at all.

With the 9300 you gained hdmi out but lost usb archiving.

Edit Yes no usb now on 9300

Thanks for the info, although I don't understand Humax's logic in fitting a useless usb port.

I'm assuming from what I've read in other topics that my only option will be to pull the hd and stick it in a caddy.
Not exactly convenient but might be worth it for programmes I really want to keep.

    Cheers

Forgive me if I've got the wrong end of the stick here but are you thinking that the OTA software is the same sort of software that came on a CD with the 9200? It isn't, the OTA software is the operating system for your 9300, the CD that came with the 9200 is something totally different.

Thanks mate but I'm not confused just frustrated.
My box is a 9300 (didn't come with a CD) and I was wondering if the 9200 transfer software would work with it.

I think my problems will be cured next time the OTA goes out, and my box updates to v1.00.26.

Transfering programmes to dvd/pc is another matter though, as it sounds like the usb port is disabled on the 9300T.

Well if as you say you've done a Default Setting and you have not altered any of the software auto update settings since then your 9300 will look for software every night at 04:00, but it must be in STANDBY at the time to do this.

But 1.00.08 is an ancient version. I would suggest checking that the system ID is correct as the 9300 has a tendancy to corrupt the system ID which then prevents all software updates until corrected.

My parents 9300 was set up just as it had been supplied to look for OTA updates and never found any. They had to do a manual update (that worked without any problems thankfully

    Hi Folks,

Thanks for your input, just checked and it looks like the next OTA for the 9300 is on 22/02/12. If I remember I'll leave the box in standby, if not I'll do a manual update.

    Cheers

As Martin stated in post #7 if your system id is wrong it will not update - automatically or manually. You can check this via:

    Menu, System, Status.
