Hi there, newbie here.
I've had two Humax PVRs and generally very happy with both. The latest, and HDR-Fox T2, is generally ok, but on some programmes and occasional adverts, the format of the display (on my Panasonic TX L37DT30B)alter so that things are elongated vertically (ie fat people become thinner!).
The format is set to 'auto' on both Humax and TV - has anyone else experienced this and found a solution?

Try setting your TV to 16:9 (wide)

I have tried that, but when I do that I just get everything as a letterbox! If watching a film and I press either Play or Pause (and in that situation the 'bar' at the bottom of the screen has almost disappeared below the picture) the display will sometimes revert to what seems a correct format, but then sometimes jump back to the incorrect display.
I presume that there must be something included in a transmission that tells the display what format to use when in Auto. As a specific example, a McDonalds advert made the screen 'go thin' and then the following advert made the screen revert!
I have read somewhere about this on Pannies. If I remember right the TV needs for some bizarre reason to be set to 4:3. I will see if i can find the info.
Repessac i think has a Panny and will likely know the answer (at least as far as the Foxsat-hdr, I imagine the problem is related)
