    Hi,

I am streaming MP4 files to my HDR Fox T2 from a Synology NAS.

I have two embedded audio streams: the first is standard stereo and the second is Dolby 5.1 (aac).

Is there a way to play the second stream so I can get surround sound when playing on the HDR? I can't find any option to switch what stream to play.

    Cheers.

I think you will find it is down to the NAS. With DNLA streaming it is generally the server that decides what to stream. So it is most likely that it is only streaming the stereo track.
It's not like file sharing where the client reads the whole file and decides what to use.

I can also stream through my DVD player (which isn't as good so I prefer not to use it) but with this I can select the audio stream so the NAS is sending both audio streams across but I can't figure out how to make the Humax box switch from one stream to the other.

Afaik you can't. You can use TSMUXERGUI to delete the audio track you don't want and remux the file.

I think you will find that the DLNA server has profiles for different devices, so it effectively customises the stream to suit. I bet there is no profile for the Humax (probably an unknown device type to the server) so it uses a generic default.
Whereas your DVD player will probably have a more specific profile.
Depending on the DLNA server software on the NAS, you may be able to set up a custom profile for the hummy but I suspect it will not be straight forward.

I think you will find some info relating to this on the Synology site:

    Specifically section 2.4.
it would be interesting to know whether your DVD has a specific profile, list here:
