I bought a HDR 2000T a couple of days ago and twice already I have had no sound output from it - in each case switching it to standby and back on had no effect.

The first time I unplugged the power and plugged it back in - at that point the sound was back, but then after a few hours it was silent again.

I did a factory reset, and again the sound was back - at the moment it is still working, but can anyone suggest why there was no sound at all? If it happens again I'll have to take this back to the shop I think because presumably it's a fault.

What is processing the sound and how is it connected. HDMI?
Was the channel being watched a HD channel?

It was connected with HDMI, and it didn't matter if it was on HD channels or SD - when there was no sound it didn't make any difference.

If it happens again I would try a new hdmi cable (don't pay a fortune).

I am having the same problem, i only bought My humax HDR 2000t last week from argos. it was working fine until 2 days ago i put it on mute for a while and when i came back to it the sound wouldnt work i tried to play stuff that i had recorded , the film played but again no sound. eventually i turned all switches off at the wall for a few minutes and when i turned it back on the sound was working again!
The same thing happened again last night and agin i switched all off at wall and switched on again and the sound was back.

is there a fault? i am going to try a different HDMI lead as you suggest tonight and maybe i should default to factory settings. very frustrated as my father has a 9300t humax and thats why i bought Humax

    Hi
Did you get this 'no sound ' issue resolved?? Or did you return humax ?

I have same 'no sound' problem when I turn put my tv (sharp aquos led) in to standby / then back on again. Only way to fix is to power-recycle the humax hdr-2000T

(however I don't have problems when connected to my sony bravia tv)

I have the same problem, but mine is connected through HDMI to a Sony Bravia TV. I have tried all the suggestions and a new cable, but the only way to get it back on is to power cycle the HDR2000T.
Has anyone got a fix for this issue, or is the only option to send it back?

Have just spoken to Humax Technical support.

The technical support chap said my sound problems were to do with my sharp TV ... they said there are no problems with the HDR-2000T

Looks like im on my own.

Humax are offering no help. The box is not compatible with some tvs (humax refuse to acknowledge this)
