Are you asking why you have to turn the volume up louder on the TV when watching using the HDR than when watching the TV itself? If so, have you turned the volume on the HDR up to maximum?

Hi Yaesu and welcome to the forum

As gomezz has said turn up the volume on the HDR to max volume - use the HDR remote and press the PVR button on the HDR remote then turn up the volume - from then on use the TV button on the HDR remote then volume to control sound level.

You are probably not aware that using all capitals in an online forum is considered as 'shouting' and also makes it more difficult to read so please bear this in mind for future posts.

Also bear in mind that Dolby Digital audio on HD channels tends to be quieter than regular MP2 Stereo tracks on SD channels - this is the nature of the AC3 format, to allow for dynamic range and such. My Sony 5.1 surround receiver is hooked up to the Humax box via optical cable, and for regular viewing on SD channels the volume is at 20 out of 73, while on Dolby Digital streams it needs to be between 35 or 40 to achieve unity gain, whether the DD stream is 2.0 or 5.1. Whereas MP2 Stereo sound is much more compressed and doesn't have a wide dynamic range.
