Because the EPG data is only broadcast from home transponder, the unit switches the tuner to access data. Once the data has downloaded (approx 30secs) it switches back to your last viewed channel.
There is a work around for this if it annoys you.
Press schedule button, and then Red for guide, however users should note that up to date info will not be downloaded using this shortcut.
