If only it were that easy! I wouldn't have had to look for advice!
The principle would remain the same for both ie viewing recorded files from an attached USB HD.

Which is fine providing they are decrypted by one of several methods that are available.

I didn't ask to remove encryption per se. I asked how to copy my existing recorded files over to a WD HD where I can simply view them when connected to my Humax 2000T or direct to my 2000T for viewing. As you will know the files are encrypted by and specifically to that PVR as a matter of course and obviously can no longer be viewed on the machine on which they were encrypted by and to because it is now defunct. I don't want to decrypt them per se, I simply want to view them again on another Humax PVR. I am not worried if they remain encrypted. I don't want to lose my years of recordings. I want to be able to view them again!

But the files won't play on the HDR-2000T because of the encryption which differs between different examples of the same model and differs again on other models.

If I can access them from my 2000T, that is no different from connecting a USB HD to my 2000T and copying and viewing recorded files on that USB.

It is possible to decrypt without the HDR-FOX T2 working some members of another forum have achieved this. You may decide that it is not worth the learning curve.
(link to other place removed by admin)

If you do decide to proceed the decrypted recordings would be very difficult to transfer to a Humax T2000, but would be relatively easily transferable to a Humax 2000T.

As already mentioned to you in an earlier discussion, the Humax 2000T is not the same as the Humax T2000.

Unfortunately, my long-serving HDR FOX T2 is kaput (not usable). I removed the 2TB HD (a previous replacement). I have put it into an external USB SATA caddy. When I connect it to my Chromebook I can see all the folders and file headings, but obviously can't open them due to encryption. I also have a mini 256GB PC and a WD 1TB HD (with 25% free) at my disposal.
I now use a Humax T2000. What is the 'easiest' method of restoring these files to fully access them from either copying them to the WD HD and/or the T200? My Acer Chromebook only has one USB port.
I need straightforward and reasonably simple step-by-step instructions, please, because I have only basic technical know how. Thanks.

It was happening on several different channels. Can’t remember which ones exactly, but ITV, BBC & Really were amongst them.
I did notice some of the scheduled programs were broadcast about 2 minutes before time. I’m not sure if that was anything to do with it.
I have been testing them over the last few days, and all boxes are back to their old selves and are recording the scheduled programs normally now. So all is well (for now) <img src="https://myhumax.org/forum/my-plugins/bb-smilies/default/icon_biggrin.gif" title=":D" class="bb_smilies" />

Since the weekend, both of my PVR 9300T’s and my HDR FOX T2 will not record scheduled recordings. I can still manually record live programs.
I did the trick of unplugging the aerial and setting them to default settings, retuning etc, but no joy.
Is anybody else having the same problems?

Which transmitter is your box using? What channels are the programmes you are trying to record?
