Should I be able to access my FVP-5000T from my PC over the home network. I assumed this would be the case as I can with my 15 years old TiVo and set programmes to record.

What operating system is the PC using?

That should work nicely. On the computer do you have network sharing enabled? On the Humax do you have the Network Server enabled enabled? You might find this FAQ by Barry helpful https://myhumax.org/forum/topic/file-transfer

Open a Windows Explorer window to show the 5000T recordings. Open a Second to show whereabouts you want to copy them.

Right click on the File Icon at the bottom of the screen and choose File Exlorer to open a File Explorer window.

Click and hold down the left mouse button on a SD TV or Radio recording and drag to the destination folder and let go the button.

It's the same as dragging and dropping files between any locations on your PC.
