Asked this a long time ago on DS and got no answers.

An old thread on DS indicates that on a Foxsat-hdr using only one cable that the box may give access to both variants of ITV1-HD in a roundabout way.

For example those with a postcode that puts the vertical polarised ITV1-HD Granada at 119, after scheduling a horizontal polarised first recording are offered an alternative to 119 (which must be horizontally polarised)

Can anyone with one cable plus the loop with ITV1-HD Granada try :

Setting a recording on 104 or 105 and then trying a clashing one with 119.

    Or with ITV1-HD London

Setting a recording on 115 or 961 and then a clashing reservation on 119.

This info is needed to modify my Excel auto macro if in fact it really works

    Thanks in advance

    Graham

I'll give this a go on one of my units later.

Set up a timer on 104 - 12:30 Bless this House.

Tried setting a conflicting on 119 - 12:30 Loose Women.

Presented conflict message, and alternate offered for chan 0965, irrc this is the red button stream for ITV HD.

Both timers are recording. I think the details for 0965 were
10832 H - but I have changed channel since it started and cannot view live again now

Thanks Barry, interesting that the red button stream is offered (never thought of that). As the red button stream is still in the data for FoxsatRecordCheck it will identify it as a possible 2nd recording choice anyway. So it looks as if it does select the alternative transmission (London in this case) and calls it 0965. (or does it actually record the red button stream - is it still there ?)

Wonder if it works the other way round substituting Granada for London when appropriate.

Once I saw how it scheduled the clash, I tried the red button on ITV1 and it did not work on 103 or 977.

Should have stated this with unit set up on Manchester postcode, and single cable loop thru'

    Edit:

Have set a clash for 1800, see what local news is recorded.

Cheers Barry, it seems there's always something new to find out about the hdr.

I've not concentrated on that unit for a while as you can probably guess.

Have been extremely busy with HD/HDR T2 'stuff'

Oops - looks ike I am going to get a recording failure, 104 is Ok, but not my alternate for the local news.

Set a few more tmers during the evening, all recorded OK, and to finish off:

Set clash timers for 22:00 - 104, then 119 and selected the alternate

The local news (at the end of News at Ten) on 0965 was ITV LOndon.
