The recent problems with Showcase/On-Demand access made it clear how useful the Freesat app can be. Users whose box wouldn't let them access On-Demand were able to use the app as a workaround.
For those of us who regret the BBC's unilateral (in my view high- handed) obliteration of On-Demand radio from the iPlayer, the Freesat app could be a solution. Add radio listings to the app's rollback EPG, and let the user click through from the EPG listing to iPlayer Radio or Radioplayer for the chosen programme. And Freesat would score a first, as no EPG on app or STB seems to offer On-Demand radio. Unless Virgin TIVO does?
