    Thanks graham.
You,of course, are right. There is a scart connection under the rca outputs.
I missed it as the humax was in a tight spot under the tv and I was using a small mirror to make the connections.
Thankfully I have a hdr, with custom firmware, in a second room that will be promoted again to the main viewing box.
I am unsure as to whether I will shell out for a new freetime box for the time being.
Any new boxes on the horizon?

What inputs does your 19" TV have and is it HD capable ?

By HDR do you mean Foxsat-HDR or HDR-FOX-T2 (Both can run CF).

Does the DLNA client on your HDR1000S still work (albeit only with SD analogue output) ?

    It's a foxsat-HDR.
I have to check the inputs on the 19" tv
I never checked out the dlna client abilities of the freetime box
what scenario are you thinking of?

If the Foxsat has the CF installed, then you can add a DLNA server (and a couple more packages) and watch it's recording remotely using the HDR1000S DLNA client.

Thanks graham for all the help so far
I have fired up the foxsat hdr and its seems I cannot access the programme files from other devices.

it was a few years ago that I had originally installed the custom firmware and twonky media and a patch.was it nowsters??

I am definitely out of the loop after all this time.

You should be good to go, my 1000S sees my Foxsat files and replays them OK (actually superior picture to replaying them direct).

If you add Samba you should be able to see the Foxsat in windows explorer as a network device. Your Foxsat of course does have to be connected to your LAN. You need an extra package (convertfiles) to select the correct audio track for remote viewing (without this you get the Audio Described track).

    Graham

I've just had the same - working perfectly then nothing out of HDMI - change cables &TV etc etc - its defiantly the HDMI port is dead (the Scart works ok)

any hints or tips to fix this or is it now dead
    box is 6 years old

I assume it has nothing to do with me just sitting down to watch the Red Arrows program which caused it to fail !!
