How do you fast forward on the All 4 Player?

How do you fast forward on the 4 player? It's a 4000T.

I was watching something on the All 4 player tonight and I could not fast forward.

I pressed >> button while watching the programme (not adverts) and the timer on the right showed me jump forwards by 10 seconds. If I wanted to go further forward I had to press >> again, and each press jumped me forward by just 10 seconds.

Holding the >> down did nothing, and the > button did not send me forward either.

Is it possible to fast forward on the All 4 player and if so, how?

I use the navigation buttons around the OK button, press down arrow to bring up the bottom menu (play scroll bar progress) press again to highlight the cursor and the the < or > button to move along
