I think you missed the point I was making.
Try looking at the guide on the FVP unit channel 32 and you will find the Sony channel, then scroll back. Then perhaps you will see my point.
    Finally on this.
Who would want all the clutter of not 1 but 2 T2 box's just hanging around
when you can get All the same and much more enhancements from 1 box less than 2/3 rds. the size .Also I haven't seen any spec that says the 5000t
    has a Turbo boost.

Ideally you would have the two HDR-FOX-T2 boxes in different rooms thus allowing different family members their own viewing choices but with both able to to view the other boxes recording without affecting what the other box user is watching.

As I never watch Freeview channel 32 it's largely irrelevant.

I guess you could do similar with two 4000/5000T boxes but at more expense.

What are these much more enhancements, my phone is much smaller. fits in my pocket and can display all the catch up channels on my main TV if I wish.

Personally not keen on the piebox design of the newer units. The older ones are a industry standard size and can be neatly stacked in a equipment rack with blu-ray players, CD players, AV receivers etc.

My better half often watches something different in the Kitchen while ironing using a different source box to the one I am using.

Not a clue what you mean about Turbo Boost ?

    Hi all,

Have been working with the 5000T for a few days now. I think I have found an unintended bug. I record a programme that's broadcast at 7pm on Beeb4 daily. because I've switched padding on (tested recordings without and they still miss the first 60 secs or so) and because the *minimum* padding is 3 minutes, the box is reporting it as a failed recording but continues to record sound only.

I can see the error message might be caused by the fact that BBC4 doesn't start transmitting till 6:59 pm. I never had this problem with my Fox T2 but then we had a choice of 1,2,3 minutes padding - ie not a minumum of 3 (By the way who on earth wants 20 mins padding???)

I'll see if it's just a one-off by tonight's recording and then, if so, change my series record manually to start at 7:02 pm to prove the point.

    Hi all,

Very much looking forward to the delivery today of my new 5000T 2tb, DPD willing. Long-term user of Humax from 9150 to current BT 4K and BT standard box working together to provide 4 channels of record plus an aging Echostar and Hummy Freesat boxes and at various times in the past all things Youview and Freesat inbetween .... even dare I say a Huwy.

I had some missaprehension with respect to the move from Youview as it sort of feels backwards for some reason but I will adjust. I'm hoping that one day, The Humax Gods being willing will extend the netwrok play capability to a Slingbox type function. Dreams are dreams.

    No Padding...

There is a known issue whereby the first BBC 4 HD recording of the day is listed with the broken symbol...however the recording plays ok. This has been reported to Humax Towers and acknowledged.

I would not call a move from YouView to the FVP 5000T a backward step.

Hopefully after using the FVP 5000T for a few Days, and getting used to the new UI with additional features such as padding, manual timers, edit timers etc you might think similar

I am surprised that recordings made without padding are missing the first 60 seconds; my advice would be to investigate this issue first before resorting to padding. What channels are these recordings from? Are you confident that the box is tuned to receive only from a single transmitter?
