    Hello, I have a FVP500T 500GB model.

I had disk space anomalies and on Humax's support advice, I performed a HDD format.

After the format the HDD is showing 99 hrs of HD recording space remaining. See photo.

The spec for this device states 125 hrs of HD.

Where has the extra 26 hours of HD gone ?

Humax claim it taken by the operating system.

    Is this true ?

Yes. A chunk of the hdd is reserved. You should email Humax and ask for the specific figures for the 500gb model.
And the 99/265 hrs figures are only approximations because no two 1hr programmes (even the same episode) will contain the same amount of data.

If you read the specs again it says "up to" X/Y hours (and according to your photo you are going to get approximately 265 hrs SD, so that should tell you something).

I wanted to verify what I was told by Humax, and this does appear to be the case.

    Thank You.
