Off topic, but a useful tip. I was hooking up an old SKY box for an elderly relative. No HDMI output, SCART only. Panasonic TV does not have a native SCART input, instead a SCART adapter which picks up the RGB and audio but no pin 8 trigger. So TV always starts up in TV mode and you need to select the input AV source on the R/C. Wanted to make it simple for her. Discovered a "Hotel Mode".
Press and hold the -V button on the side of the panel.
Apply successive presses of the AV button on the R/C, it took 5 as I recall.
Up will come a Hotel Mode menu.
Set Hotel Mode to ON.
Set Input to the preferred AV input.
Don't alter the menus related to buttons or you might brick the set.
Exit.
TV will now always start up in your selected AV input.

Hotel mode is great for stuff like this.
I have my LG set to come on to "live TV /BBC1" so that my Dad can just turn on and use the TV like a "normal telly please" lol.| Wed 19 Sep 2018 15:39:37 #2 |
