Good evening guys...
Forgive me if I'm not in the right section here but I am a bit of a novice when it comes to technical know how about these things.
I'm trying to fix a problem on my father's humax Hdr Fox t2 which symptoms are: not being able to record anything and also "deleting" appears everything you go into menu for videos. There are also a few commands which are greyed out of which I can't use.
I did find a link with other users experiencing similar problems of which other very helpful users help to solve.
My problem is that when other users helpful advice mention download a certain update and load onto the box, this is what Confuses me (forgive me for my lack of knowledge) as I don't know whether this means for me to get a certain update from my PC and them somehow get this on to the box. My father is 78 and this box was a God send present for him from my brother.
I'm just a novice trying to get him sorted. Any novice idiots guide advice would be very much appreciated.
Thanks
Iain.

Good evening guys...
Forgive me if I'm not in the right section here but I am a bit of a novice when it comes to technical know how about these things. You don't need to be a technical genius to fix this but you do need to be prepared to do some reading and follow instructions.
I'm trying to fix a problem on my father's humax Hdr Fox t2 which symptoms are: not being able to record anything and also "deleting" appears everything you go into menu for videos. There are also a few commands which are greyed out of which I can't use.
This is a well known problem with a known solution.

Then you put the Humax into standby and wait for the disk to stop spinning (if you want to be perfectionist you would turn it off at the mains). Then insert the USB pen drive into the Humax (there is one port at the back and one at the front hidden under a small flap on the right). Bring the Humax out of standby and the custom firmware update should start. It will take several minutes with long pauses at various points. When it has finished remove the USB drive, put the Humax into standby again, wait for the disk to stop spinning and then bring it out of standby.
You then need to follow the instructions for connecting by Telnet at http://wiki.hummy.tv/wiki/Telnet and for running fix-disk at http://wiki.hummy.tv/wiki/Maintenance_Mode
Come back and ask questions when you are stuck.

Hi guys, replying on this forum a little later than expected but nonetheless.
I installed the update but not so sure I did the right one as it seemed to install ok but nothing is different and still says "deleting".
The update I loaded on was hdr-foxt2_1_03_12.zip would anyone know anything else for me to try as as I mentioned before I am a novice when it comes to these things as I gave a pen drive to the I.T. guys in work, told them my probs and they put this onto a stick and told me to try this.
No luck I'm afraid. Ay input would be great.| Sun 29 Nov 2015 13:43:58 #4 | -

Please forgive me I'm not so sure what you mean.
Would there even be a factory reset link for a file that I could download and install for this box?| Sun 29 Nov 2015 15:50:54 #6 | -

The file you want is Link to custom firmware but just doing this is not enough. You then need to follow the instructions at Link to hummy.tv wiki on running fix-disk. If this is beyond your level of technical competence then do you have any friends who could hep; failing that a PC repair shop should be able to follow the instructions but do give them the links I have posted.
