Added mine too Bob, I like to keep mine trim and only store what I haven't watched, I do this with all my PVR's!

FYI, my survey says that people believe their disk to be ~50% full.

This is interesting because it reflects fairly closely the data supplied by af123.

50% usage on my old 250GB Topfield SD PVR.
30% usage on my 320GB Humax Freesat HD + saved films and other programmes on an external 400GB USB HDD.
10% usage on my 500GB DigitalStream Freeview HD PVR.

We optomists reckon ours are 50% Empty

That's also what I see if I look at all 2000+ devices that are registered with the RS portal, the mean is approximately 46% regardless of disk size.

af123, I can't say without checking but I wonder if the value reported by your software is the same as the value shown on the UI...

Not if you are hoping to find something new and interesting to watch.

No, it will be slightly different. Mine is based on the used and free space on the video partition as reported by 'df', which uses Mebibytes.

    humax# df -h /mnt/hd2
Filesystem Size Used Available Use% Mounted on
    /dev/sda2 906.1G 397.9G 462.1G 46% /mnt/hd2

On this box, the Settings->System->Data Storage screen says:

    Available 497.4GB
    Used 408.6GB
    Reserved: 114.0GB
    Total Size 1000.0GB

which is closer to 40% used, however the pie chart says 54% available (corresponding to the 46% used shown by df) and is visibly half green.

Not if you are hoping to find something new and interesting to watch.

Perfect example from last night: No Mock the Week due to the patball overrunning.

The footy did not overrun. No extra time or penalties. Game was over in 90mins. Also, isn't Mock of the Week on BBC 2?
