    Hi there,

I've had my box 10 years with very little problem.

It's been struggling saying No or Bad Signal over the last few days.

The satellite dish connection at dish looked iffy but has now been connected again but in Freesat Tune when I try to add channels it just keeps searching for satellite signal.

Strength and Quality alternates between 0 and decent percentages. If I click Stop it just says failed to connect.

Also it's saying invalid postcode even tho it's right.

I should add both cables are connected to the box at the rear and I've tried powering off and restarting.

    Any help guys?

    Steph

    Suggestions
    1. try a non freesat tune for unencrypted channels - do you get any?
    2. check the F-connections are correctly fitted - they must make an electrical connection to the LNB.
    3. Report back.

10 years is a good life for a LNB.

I did a manual tune and 235 channels saved. I thought it was fixed but if I hardly recognise the Guide. It's well into 5000 numbers and channel 101 doesn't bring up BbC1 Scotland line before.

I seem to have BBC1 Oxford. Is there anyway to get the channels I had before - starting at 101?

The channels start 5001 and end 5235.

Also any tips for the postcode - I've entered 2 valid postcodes correctly and it won't accept either. See image.

I also can't record anything in the guide but can select a channel and record via the record button. Also my guide is emptying itself.

Ok, I now have my TV channels back as before but I'm stuck with the original problem. The Strength and Quality seems lower percentages than normal and many of the channels including Channel 4 and bbc2 are coming up No or Bad Signal.

Any idea what could be wrong?

As you can get channels with a manual tune but your postcode is rejected, my first thought is a faulty LNB. Channels are split into four bands High/Low and Vertical and Horizontal polarised.

For a freesat tune to work you must be able to receive 11428 H (27500 2/3) - You can try a manual scan for only this frequency and see if you get anything. My guess is that you have lost all the Horizontal (H) frequencies.

Sometimes the defect may not effect all the LNB connections - you could also try reversing the two feeds and see if that makes a difference.

The LNB is the thing at the end of your dish arm. They are not expensive.
