Internet radio - Couple of comments noted elsewhere.

Access to Internet Radio was removed in the early hours of Thurs 5th July.

This will stop users suffering from the reboot issue, especially important if recording at the time of course.

Investigations continue as to why this initially worked with V28 during testing but not subsequently.

I am confused. There was no hint of the 1.02.28 update at http://www.firmware.org.uk/Humax/HD-FOX-T2.html and still isn't. Is this the wrong place to look?

Also, the supposed 'benefits' of the update have not appeared on my HD Fox T2 - e.g. no on screen indication of the mode of the multifunction remote is being displayed (no great loss), but the internet radio has gone (as discussed by others). Only by searching the forums do I find out why it has gone.

This lackadaisical approach to updates, given the size of the customer base, is staggering. Will the internet radio ever return?

It is an unofficial site; the official Humax site is probably the best place for updates Link to 1.02.28

There is more than one type of remote that has been supplied with the HD models and the on screen indication is only possible with one of the remote types.

but the internet radio has gone (as discussed by others).

It has been temporarily removed from the portal whilst Humax fix the bug that slipped into 1.02.28.

This lackadaisical approach to updates, given the size of the customer base, is staggering.

    What lackadaisical approach?

Will the internet radio ever return?

    Yes.

Thanks for the official link on updates.

By "lackadaisical approach" I mean putting out an official update that has a large bug in it. Perhaps the release notes might also have specified which remotes gain the 'new feature'. Mine appears to be a universal one, but apparently not the universal one affected. This is why I was not sure the update had loaded correctly.

Apart from these forums I have not seen anything about the removal of the internet radio because of the rebooting bug. Is there anywhere Humax releases this type of info, along with updates on what is happening?

"lackadaisical approach" In the post before your first one Barry clearly explained "Investigations continue as to why this initially worked with V28 during testing but not subsequently."

You get a good idea of what is going on in this forum.

Thanks. Looks like I need to keep monitoring the posts here then, in the absence of any official 'status' site.

The remote feature was explained on this Forum when beta 1.02.27 was released see this thread:

Thanks Barry. However, the point is that I recently acquired the HD T2 which had V20 firmware. Then I noticed the internet radio had gone and a quick check showed V28 had appeared (no messages or other indication were given). After some Googling I find this forum and the release notes for V28 - which says it should give me on screen indications for the mode of my multi function remote (RM-F04), but it does not. No release notes indicate why this should be (maybe my multi remote is an old issue?)

In addition the Humax site that has the firmware and release notes does not say anything about the Internet Radio bug, or what is happening about it, or which multi function remotes will be affected by V28. I can and have found some of this information by searching and ending up here. Some other people may not be so lucky and presumably have to phone Humax support. It would just be nice (and customer focused)to have an updated 'status' page for Humax issues with all the information in one place where any Humax user can go for updates and issues information.

I feel your frustration Geoff. Humax have never been very good at talking to their customers or putting out information regarding updates.

You are right about your remote. It must be an old issue remote that you have. Humax changed the version at some point in production, but to make matters worse, then messed up the labelling of them, so the only true way (as far as i know) to tell the version is to test it.

They have added this notification system because of the volume of calls their customer service were receiving when the remote was accidentally set to the wrong mode and appeared not to work.

However, talk about making a rod for your own back, they are now setting themselves up for calls about remote's not showing on screen messages like you have found because they fail to explain the issue with the remote versions in the release notes or on their website.

Internet Radio has been taken down by Humax while they investigate the rebooting issue, but I don't think it will reappear any time soon (weeks), and will probably require a new firmware to fix it.

Thanks Chris. I like Humax products and have a couple of 9200Ts as well as the HD T2, but I guess like so many other otherwise good Companies, communication to existing customers does not appear to be a priority. YouView and the DTR-T1000 is probably their focus now. Hope they handle firmware updates a bit slicker for that.
