Think it's time to ditch the Aura.

I've had my Aura almost since it was released in the UK. Recently I've been having the issue with Film4 and other channels neither playing nor recording some programmes, often partially recording them or partially playing them. Astrid In Paris being the most important one for me. We've now reached the time of the year when British Touring Cars and Formula E are on, with Formula E moving from Ch4 to ITV4. Set the Aura to record the Formula E from Monaco this weekend. I watched the race from Saturday (3rd May), fine. Watched the qualifying from Sunday (4th May) fine. Tried to watch the race from Sunday. Nothing. Back to having a blast of sound with a blank picture. Nothing I could do would bring it back and it's not available on catch-up. Checked to see if the long awaited update was anywhere near and found that it was. Can I persuade my Aura to update? Can I hell. I even tried deleting existing updates to the Freeview app in the hope of triggering the most recent, nope, that doesn't work either. Nor is there any way of initiating any update.

The three tuner capacity is great, but if I can't watch any recordings made using those tuners they're useless to me. I think I'll buy a second Manhattan to go with the first, that will give me some leeway in recording capacity, or stick to moving the excess onto the TV hard disk.

I've had Humax since the earliest days of Freeview recording, the PVR8000T but I think I've reached the end of my tether.

See other post - I think the ITV4 problem was a transmission problem as it is OK now.
