Humax HDR-1100S and Foxsat HDR owner.

Anyone had success with connecting a powered 3.5 HDD SATA Caddy via USB on the 1100S?

Reason for asking is I converted all my DVD/BluRays to mp4/MKV's and currently play via PC/HDMI. Its a bit fiddly using keypad/mouse and would like to transfer to one of my caddy's and play via the Humax HDR-1100S.

Have tried hard drive combinations of 500GB WD SATA, 1TB Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 Hard Drive (SATA, 7200 RPM, 32 MB Cache) and a 1TB Western Digital Green.

I have tried each formatted to FAT32, EXT3 and NTFS (Logical partitioning).

I have tried them in a Startech USB 3.0 3.5 inch SATA III Hard Drive Enclosure and a CiT 3.5 inch USB 2.0 SATA and IDE HDD Enclosure

None of these combinations show up in the storage setting, however if I connect a SanDisk 64gb Extreme USB 3.0 flash stick it immediately shows up in the storage list. Also borrowed a WD 500GB Elements Portable External USB 3.0 Hard Drive and this also shows in the settings list.

Can I assume that only flash drives are recognized?
