    My 1000s lasted all of 4 days....it's now U/S.

My first port of call was the LNB which is 100% on both channels, using an LNB signal meter. This proved the ports on the 1000s are putting out power but it is not displaying pictures.

So I connected up my old unit back in and hey presto pictures.

    Oh dear....

What does the front panel on the unit say and does it respond to channel up/down?.

Not displaying picture could just be HDMI/CEC problem.

I would try reconnecting the unit to see if the power cycle fixed things.

Hi, Front panel appears to be functioning channel up down etc. I have disconnected power and will report back.

I did try another HDMI cable but that made no change.

    Well I'll be damed....that cured it....thanks

What is this problem and will I still have to have the unit checked or replaced. I don't want to have to do that every now and then.

Ahhhh, another topic pointed me to the Viera Link setting on the TV which I have now dissabled.

Many thanks again for your guidance on this problem.

The problem seems to occur with certain TV makes and models.
I would suggest that the TV is fully booted first and then the PVR brought out of standby.
Now that Tv's are getting smarter they are taking longer to boot I think part of the problem with my Philips is that it is not ready when the PVR tries to handshake .

Yes, I've documented this elsewhere on these forums, on my Panasonic E5B if connected to HDMI1 you must ensure that the TV is fully booted-up before powering on the Humax. Otherwise you get no display on the TV. If connected to any other HDMI input the TV boots-up into terrestrial TV and you have to use the AV button to select the Humax input.
