I am sure I have read about this, but searching on here and Google didn't produce any results.

I want to record to an External USB 500GB HDD, instead of to the internal HDD. I have attached it to the rear port and it shows up underneath the internal HDD in 'Storage'. I can format it, and I assumed it would then start using it for recordings. But no, it still records to the internal HDD.

    1. Can I record to the External HDD?
    2. If so, how do I get it to use that, rather than the internal HDD?

Sorry, Barry, but recording to an external hard drive is possible. Freesat have chosen to not implement that option instead of going with customer preference for it..

Pointless post, Humax have never made a twin tuner pvr (Freeview-SD Freeview-HD, Freesat) that will record to an external usb drive. Some models will allow archiving of content post recording to an external drive (eg Foxsat-HDR). USB recording is largely confined to pvr ready single tuner units. HD FOX T2, HB1000S for instance. Freesat clearly allowed the latter to record externally.

OK, scrap that plan then! Thanks for your responses.

    Ridiculous comment to be honest.

As stated by me not possible, and as OP has an answer, though not the one he wanted, thread closed.
