    Hi,

turning on 2000t wont get past the display of Humax logo & display of "UKTfac1.04" in bottom left. Screen goes black and then just repeats the logo display again. Powerlight is blue all the time and it doesn't respond to remote

Tried swapping hard drive as a gamble but no luck

Has anybody got any suggestions? Is it possible to do a firmware reset for example?

    Cheers,
    Gerry

    Welcome to our Forum

You could try reloading the firmware...see:

    For firmware download and instructions.

    Hi Barry,

thank you so much for the suggestion. No luck unfortunately.

The firmware update worked so it's now on version 1.01.18 as per link.

It's still stuck in an endless boot cycle where the logo comes up, screen goes black for maybe 20 or 30 secs then logo appears again. I'm pretty sure that it doesn't even get to spinning up the hard disk.

Has anybody got any other suggestions?

    Cheers,
    Gerry

Long shot as you have already tried changing the HDD. Does it boot with the hard drive disconnected ?

After seeing the slightly contorted SATA cable I thought the same thing earlier but no joy

Feels like the boot is waiting for something and timing out

My HDR2000T did something similar. It crashed when I was creating/moving folders, and I haven't seen the HUMAX startup on-screen logo since.
The SOLUTION is to apply external power, then wait 24 seconds for the screen to twitch. Immediately hit the power button on the front or the Remote, then it boots up fully and behaves completely normally.
Humax has always had a weird 3-state on-off : 1) Apply external power & wait 2) Yes I really want you to power-on 3) Shutdown
It has always had a "feature" that it denies having a HDD on first boot. One way around is to schedule a 2min recording starting 2mins in the future. Once that's happen, everything works properly.
