A problem has emerged with my ageing 9200T, which up until now has given very reliable service.

About 3 weeks ago, I noticed it wasn't recording a few "series-linked" programmes on More4. The problem then seemed to spread to series link programmes on other channels.

I had a look at some of the other posts on this problem, and found Biggles really useful guide to manual programming (many thanks!). I followed this yesterday and ensured all channels are tuned to Crystal Palace, my nearest TX.

Since re-tuning I have found that the EPG is not populating beyond a couple of days on some channels (e.g. BBC2). I'm not sure if this is anything to do with the main problem, but I've mentioned it for completeness.

I set up some test recording instructions yesterday and today. I've set the recordings to start on time, i.e. with no buffer before or after.

It seems that the programmes which were not series linked (e.g. a film on ITV2 yesterday) have recorded OK, but anything which was series linked (e.g. a documentary about the space shuttle on BBC4) has not recorded.

Essentially, the manual re-tune doesn't appear to have cured the problem. Does anyone have any other suggestions? I haven't tried a re-format, but this doesn't seem to be mentioned as a possible cure.

A format will not help so don't go there. Change channel (on the Humax) to BBC1 and then press the Menu button and select System>Signal detection and tell us what multiplex channel is reported. Repeat for ITV1, ITV3, Pick, 4Music then post the results here.

    Thanks for the quick reply.

    The information I've got is:

    BBC1 CH23 490000kHz
    ITV1 CH26 514000kHz
    ITV3 CH25 506000kHz
    Pick CH22 482000kHz
    4Music CH28 530000kHz

Signal strength was between 75% and 78% and quality for each channel was 100%.

John - Welcome to our Forum

Those channels and readings are OK for CP.

The only thing that was amiss with the horizon shuttle programme was the series crid id was missing when I checked, so it would not have set next programme in series to record, but should have recorded shuttle on ok.

Let us know if you have any more series problems.

Barry, many thanks for coming back to me on this. I will pick another couple of programmes to test on series link today, but if they don't record then it does look there's no solution to this problem?

    Thanks again for the help. I've set series links on BBC1 Eastenders (20:00 - 20:30) and ITV1 Coronation Street 20:30 - 21:00.

    I'll update later this evening.

Ok I have set same on a 9300, do not have a 9200 connected up at present.

You should find that corrie will record the 19:30 episode as well.

    Barry, thanks again.

Everything seems OK just now. Both Coronation St (19:30 and 20:30) recorded as did Eastenders.

In case it's something to do with BBC4, I've added The First Georgians at 22:35 with a series link. I'll update on that tomorrow.
