I already have 2 external 2 TB USB drives on my original Foxsat HDR. I have just tried to add an additional USB drive but the Humax does not recognise it. Does anyone know a fix?

How are you adding the third - via a USB hub?

Does the third work in place of one of the other two?

Thanks for your response. The 2 external USB drives are already mounted on a USB hub from the rear connection on the Humax box. I have just plugged the 3rd USB drive into the same hub. So I wish to increase the total capacity of my external storage, not replace one.

Yes, I understand. I am trying to find out if it is the hub that is causing the problem (some USB devices do not get along). Can you connect the third USB drive in isolation to see if it works with the Humax OK.

Thanks. Your advice started me on the right track. I had not formatted the new drives as ext3 precisely. They worked fine under Linux on PC but Humax is obviously more pedantic! They are all now working fine.
