I have seen amazon Video and Now TV advertised on the latest Freeview Play adverts. Has anyone got any ideas if/when these will be coming to the FVP 4000T?

I saw that and have even replayed the AD. In the Corrie break on ITV-HD. Going to watch it again tomorrow more carefully. Getting all 3 (including NETFLIX) on one box would certainly be a bit of a coup.
If you look at the start watching here a Amazon Video icon appears briefly.

Most Freeview Play devices also support other video streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Sky's NOW TV.
It doesn't however say that all 3 are available on any device

Interesting. I really do hope that Amazon and Now TV are implemented on Freeview play. That would mean that you wouldn't really need any other box - just Freeview play.

I'm going to keep a close eye on how this developes.It could for instance be a resources issue. Not currently a Humax Freeview Play box user. however given the choice I would go for Netflix every time (I do have an an Amazon Prime subscription using a Fire TV box) and also Netflix mostly watched on my Freesat+ HDR-1000S. Not really interested in Sky's 720p limited NOW-TV service.
Having both and a decent AV receiver set up. Netflix offers much better video quality and excellent Dolby Digital plus 5.1 audio on most content. Of course it is not as impressive as a Blu-ray disk and lossless HD audio but considering the bitrate limitations it's close enough not to notice when you actually get engrossed in a really good movie.
In my opinion given the option of excellent video and poor audio, or a slightly reduced video and superb audio I would go for the latter.
Take the generally poor Pearl Harbour Blu-ray plot wise. I and friends find it hard to not duck as the Japanese Zeros enter through the wall behind the viewing position and scream just over our heads and the punch in the guts when the Arizona's magazine explodes (thanks to a decent subwoofer). If you are watching on a flat screen TV with tiny speakers you are missing so much.

Lets hope that we get the Amazon app on YouView, because that'll turn the box from a great one, to an absolute great one. I have the DTR-T2000, and so far, it's worked a treat, I even managed to sort out the facility to remotely record programmes via my Android App!

but they do now have the Now TV app built in so I've ditched (Ebayed) all my Now TV boxes.
