Is there a way to disable HDMI-CEC? I can't find any options on the 4000T, and it isn't playing nice with my setup. Any time I put the 4000T into standby, it switches off the TV. If I'm putting the 4000T into standby and want to switch the TV to watch another input then obviously I don't want the TV to switch off.

The only workarounds I've found are to either leave the 4000T switched on all the time or to completely disable HDMI control on my TV and AV receiver. This is not ideal since I prefer to use HDMI-CEC to control my AV receiver's volume.

    Welcome to our Forum

Afraid there is no way to disable HDMI-CEC on unit that I am aware of.

Perhaps buy a HDMI cable or adaptor that has this disabled?
(One of the clever people on here will provide a link no doubt - Edit: I was right )

Use a hdmi cable or adaptor that removes the cec control pin (13).

    eg

That's how CEC is supposed to work. Any other box whoever made it, so connected will do this. Humax didn't design the totally flawed system. Some later kit has the option to disable auto power off functions. I take it your TV isn't one.

Doesn't seem to, don't understand as the old humax and the blue ray player don't do this.. They switch to the channel but don't switch the Tv off

The old Humax and the Blu-ray most likely don't have CEC. Some TV's will auto select a hdmi port purely based on port activity. HDMI 1 on a Panasonic TV for instance.
