I have noticed that when in recording mode, the Humax's hard drive can be heard resonating on the shelf of my TV stand which is open.

Can anyone suggest a suitable solution to suppress this?

I used to have one of the earlier SD models which did the same thing but the TV stand I had then, came with a glass door so I didn't really notice as much.

Softish rubber stick on feet should help isolate the box.

Your hard disk should not make more noise when it is recording, The Hard disk is spinning and the heads are moving all the time The Humax in on (When not in stand-by). However as stated above, soft rubber or felt 'feet' will help stop the transmission on noise
