    Hello,

Has anyone else found their 5000t box makes a buzzing/humming/chattering noise. It's more noticeable/louder sometimes than others. I've been unable to work out a pattern as to what is causing it (I thought it was when I was recording but it was doing it early when I wasn't, I do realise it's always recording to some extent as that's how I can rewind live TV).

Am I alone in this happening? Is it something that'll only get worse with time or just be this level always?

    Thanks in advance.

Seen other reports, however my 5000T with a 2TB drive is virtually silent. You can only hear it as the Hard disk spins up after a boot. Try isolating from the shelf it's sitting on which may amplify the noise.

Try stick on cork furniture feet

Thanks for the tip. I tried lifting it up (only a few cm) as I thought it might be vibrating on the glass shelf but it didn't seem to make any difference

Sometimes you can only hear it if you're near to it, other times you can hear it when the TV is on the silent and I'm reading the red button or setting up recordings, sometimes you can just hear during a quiet bit of TV.

Mine sits on top of a HDR-1000S which is also very quiet. Both have the same HDD installed.

I've managed to work out it's whenever it's recording (either live TV or something I've set to record). When it's not recording and I'm watching a recorded show it doesn't make the noise (chattering).
