I have just updated the Humax software to the latest version 1.03.12 and installed the latest customware version 2.23. The Humax box itself works perfectly, including access to BBC iplayer. My HDR is connected to my router via a network cable. However when I type the IP address into the browser on my PC I receive the message "cannot establish a conncection to the server at - the IP address".

I can "see" the HDR when I log into my router (on the PC) and the IP address ties up. I have also tried typing the IP address into Safari on my ipad with no luck. Which make me think the problem is not in my PC/ipad browser.

I have not had this problem with earlier versions of the customware.

Any help is gratefully received, I've run out of ideas!

Can you ping the HDR IP address from a command prompt ?

Click start, type CMD into the search box and press enter. In the command box type ping xxx.xxx.xx.xx (the x's are your box IP address). Press enter.

OK, I managed that, this is the result-

    C:\Users\John Fxxxxx>ping 192.168.2.3

Pinging 192.168.2.3 with 32 bytes of data:
    Reply from 192.168.2.3: bytes=32 time=3ms TTL=64
    Reply from 192.168.2.3: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=64
    Reply from 192.168.2.3: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=64
    Reply from 192.168.2.3: bytes=32 time=1ms TTL=64

    Ping statistics for 192.168.2.3:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 1ms, Maximum = 3ms, Average = 1ms

Or should I have done something to amend the path beforehand, i.e. get rid of "C:\user\John....?

No that's fine, your computer can clearly see the HDR FOX T2 on your network.

Do you know how to reserve that address on your router so it will never change ?

Have you rebooted the HDR FOX T2 after flashing the firmware ?

I think I have done that (it's the first time I've tried). I added a line (with the MAC and IP addresses) in the router's "DHCP reservation list" and ticked "enable".

That sounds OK. Did you reboot the box ?

I have now and tried typing in the IP address in my browser for the HDR, but I still get the same "cannot connect" message.

Running out of ideas. Do you know how to use FTP ?. If so turn on content sharing on the HDR FOX T2, run a FTP programme like Filezilla and try logging onto the HDR FOX T2 using

    HumaxFTP IP password 0000.
