The HD channels I used to get on my Humax box now seem unavailable when I do a manual retune.
I do a manual retune using the channels specified on the Digital UK website for my area. I have to manually retune because if I do an automatic retune I get the welsh channels (and I live in Merseyside).
I get all of the normal channels but when I go to tune the HD channels (54 & 37) the strength and quality is at 0% and obviously when I then search no channels are found.

Does anybody know why this is happening and how I can get the HD channels? Like I have said I used to get these channels but I would say they "disappeared" about 6 months ago I think.

    Please could somebody help?

    Thanks.

Hi welcome to our forum. When manual tuning did you remember to select DVB-T2 when tuning the HD Mux ?

    Graham,

Many thanks for your quick reply and for also solving my problem in double quick time!

Quite simply I didn't know that I had to do this. Is it it written somewhere or is just a bit of technical knowledge that I am missing?

Anyway thanks for solving something which has bugged me for a while.
    Thanks.

Freeview-HD in the UK uses a newer more advanced form of modulation DVB-T2, SD uses the original DVB-T (Digital Video Broadcasting Terrestrial). Some other countries still use DVB-T for HD. Many HD TV's bought in the UK actually have HD tuners but only DVB-T capability so are useless for Freeview-HD. Some models will auto select DVB-T2 when required, as you have found out the HDR FOX T2 isn't one of them.

A similar situation exists on satellite DVB-S and DVB-S2.
