Hi, I'm a newbie here having recently purchased a Humax HDR 2000T.
It is functioning fine but I have a query with Screen Resolution: Temporarily, I have it connected to an old CRT TV - which will obviously be at 576i. However, the menu/settings/preferences won’t let me change it – it is low-lighted. Is this because it knows what it is connected to? The reason I ask is that when I buy a new flat-screen and connect it via HDMI, I obviously want to change it to 1080, but don’t want to have to re-install it as I assume I will lose all my recordings. Can any clarify please. Thanks.

If you have the box connected to a CRT TV via a scart connection (analogue video) only then 576i is the only output possible. To use a higher resolution output then a digital output is required (ie HDMI). A factory reset won't affect your recordings but I imagine connecting the box via hdmi should enable the other output options. When you watch a HD channel the content is 1080i which the box has to downscale to 576i otherwise you wont see a picture.
