I have had my youview box for over a year now and it has been trouble free. In the last 3-4 days it has started buzzing and clicking in standby mode. When in playback the same noise occurs and the picture breaks up, stops and restarts in a few seconds.
Has anyone else had this happen and what do I do to fix it.
    Thanks

Bad blocks on the hard disk, I would guess.

Oh right, Is there a way of sorting it or is it a send away job?

I don't know if you can just put a blank HDD in these boxes and they initialise it automatically, or if there's more to it.

Haven't had any problems with mine (yet) so its not something I've looked into.

Maybe someone else here can advise.

Came home this evening to find mine locked up, needed power-cycle. Maybe I'm not far away from needing to find out more about these boxes

They seem to have a mind of their own.
Was watching HD last night live and the old box was clicking away but no effect on the screen. Strange !

Maybe they play the live stream. I reckon if you tried to wind back, the recording would break up.

The clicking and buzzing noises seem to be getting more frequent especially whilst its on standby.
as soon as I start watching a recorded programme it starts clicking.
Should I reset to factory settings to see if that helps or is there something else I should be doing.
I fear the thing is going to suddenly stop altogether.
    Thanks
