I had a recent issue with the Humax I purchased so I copied all of the recordings via FTP to my Mac and then when I got the replacement model I then copied them back to the Humax. The problem is when I go to play any of those recordings I get the following message, and the recording will not play…

The channel is scrambled or not available.

I made sure to copy all files i.e. the .hmt. .nts, .thm and .ts files but still no luck.

    Any ideas?

The recordings are encrypted by default and can only be replayed on the box that recorded them. Sorry.

Each Humax has a different way of encrypting the files recorded on it, so you must use the original unit to decrypt the files before FTP'ing them, unfortunatly without the Humax that recorded the files decryption is not possible
