When setting up my new HDR 1000s the setup said it only had 1 lnb connected, even though I had connected 2!
The old HUMAX Foxsat HDR when put back sees 2 lnbs no probs. I checked cables etc to no avail, I cannot make the new 1000s see 2 lines. So have given up for now and put old Foxsat back which sees the 2 LNBs.
Is it possible that my dual LNB which is probably quite old, is unsuitable for this new 1000s?

Very unlikely - it's a standard Ku band universal lnb. If you reverse the inputs and factory reset the new box what happens ?
If still one cable reverse inputs and repeat, if situation same tuner 2 in may not be working.
Don't expect the box to magically see 2 cables without a reset. The number of cables is only detected during setup.
