    Hi Jim,

Raydon's done a great job, download the file and you'll find a ReadMe.txt file in it which should contain all the straight forward steps to installing it.

My advice would be to give it a go and if you get stuck, I'm sure you won't, drop a message/post back explaining how far you've got and where you're stuck.

It's well worth installing it, best of luck

    Hi Damian,
I have managed to update my FoxsatHDR using a 2Gb flash drive formatted to fat32. On boot up screen now shows Custom FW v4.0.8 I don't know what steps to take next.
My PC is in different room using Windows 7 Professional 64Bit using Solid State Drives, but I have a couple of 1Tb Sata drives that I use for backup, one of which I could use for something else!

So what is it you want to do with the custom firmware?

    Hi jimp21

First of all you must have your Foxsat-hdr connected to your home network by some means. If you can use iplayer it is.

Now you need to identify the IP address your Foxsat is using.

    Menu System Network

    It will look like 192.168.0.2

Make a note of this and open your web browswer.

In the url type the above number and press enter. Your PC should now connect to the Foxsat and complete the basic installation of the software. After this is complete reboot the Foxsat and re-connect as above.

You should now be able to install the additional packages you wan't to use.

    Good Luck

    Hi Graham,

thanks for help and I have successfully installed the full web interface and supporting packages. I can now get BBCiPlayer on Humax (without computer)

You didn't need the CF to do be able to use iplayer, just needed to connect your Foxsat to your router. You will only be able to use iplayer using the Foxsat (assuming you are using a Scottish Postcode). Itv player is only available for English, Welsh and Borders postcodes (you can change to a Borders postcode by running a freesat tune). afaik STV player is not available at all on satellite Freesat boxes

It's available on Freeview boxes though.
