Attempted to Boot up my freesat this morning and it took over 2 mins to boot. When running I could not change channel or select menu or anything from the remote control or the front buttons.

I had a look through this forum and someone suggested unplugging the HDD. I unplugged the sata data lead and the box boots as normal (apart from not finding the HDD). I suspected the HDD or power supply.

I measured HDD supply voltages and got 4.87vdc and 11.6 vdc.

I removed the HDD completely and placed it in my PC external HDD dock. I was able to see the sectors and files thereon.

I next connected a spare 2.5mm HDD to my Foxsat hdr booted up ok and formatted it. I manually recorded a program which I could playback, however, a timed program did not seem to be recorded.

    My dilemma is this:

Is the original HDD faulty ( can be read by a PC)
Is the power supply faulty (drives a 2.5mm HDD)

What software did you use to read the Foxsat Hard Disk when connected to a PC as it is formatted Linux EXT3 format ? Can you read the disk when connected to one of the Foxsat's USB ports.

    Welcome to our forum.
